Where do I register to vote?

Right  here!

I’m honest, why do I need to register?

We ask you to register, just once per voter please, for ballot security and to prevent fraud by others. If there is any concern, we may send an additional email to confirm that a human is behind the email address. We will NEVER ask for confidential, personal information. We will not use any email addresses for any other purpose than to send you a ballot. Once you successfully register, you will be emailed a ballot from our voting provider, SurveyMonkey. The Dragon Awards reserves the right to invalidate suspect or questionable ballots without notice.

When can I expect my ballot?

The initial batch of ballots will be issued early August to those that have registered throughout the year. Additional ballots will be issued as people register, by our ballot provider SurveyMonkey.

What if my ballot doesn’t arrive?

You must not be “opt-out” with SurveyMonkey, to receive a ballot. You can opt-in with SurveyMonkey here.  If you did not receive a ballot please check your spam filter and settings to see if your mail client or ISP has trapped your ballot in your spam folder. If you have successfully registered to receive a ballot and are not “opt-out” with SurveyMonkey but haven’t received one please email “dcwards at dragoncon dot org” for assistance.

How do I nominate a book, movie, comic, book cover or game?

The process is really simple.  You need only register your email to nominate in any of the eleven categories. Be aware that you only get one nomination per category.  Once you have entered a choice, you cannot add or change that category.

What happens to my information once I register?

This information is only used for the Dragon Awards and for notices related only to the Dragon Awards and Dragon Con, where they are announced. It is never sold or made available to anyone else. Your email address is not shared with any other entity including any other Dragon Con notification or newsletter. Those that do not choose to receive ballots in future years have their email address purged at the conclusion of a the awards year.

Do I have to nominate someone or something in all 11 categories at one time?

No, you can nominate only one or as many choices as you are comfortable with. Be aware that you only get one nomination per category.  Once you have entered a choice, you cannot add or change that category. Please do not nominate a book for more than one category.  If the same work is added more than once, your nominations will be null.

Do I have to have a nomination in every category?

No, you can leave any category you wish blank. The rest of your nominations are not affected.

Can I change a nomination?

No, once you have chosen a nominee in a category that is permanent and cannot be changed. Once you have entered a choice, you cannot add to or change your choice for that category. Nominations are final.

What if I left a category blank?

Not a problem. Please only include nominations you are comfortable with.

How long do I have to nominate?

Nominations will close on July 19 of every year.

How do I vote for the finalists?
